When you have an entire home to clean, it can feel very overwhelming to know where to start and how to make sure you don’t miss anything.
Today, we’re spilling our secrets on how we professionally clean homes without having to repeat tasks or worry that we missed anything. Here is the Mindful Mop’s go-to cleaning routine. ENJOY!
Think one room at a time, and one step at a time
- In order to not get overwhelmed, take things slowly and only focus on one task at a time. I know…this is the trickiest part for us multi-taskers out there, but trust us, it saves time in the long run!
Always tidy first
- Organize all toys, books, accessories, blankets so that everything looks good and is in its proper place before moving to the actual “cleaning” part begins.
Dust before wiping
- Dusting first ensures all dust falls to the floor / surfaces that you will clean later.
- Dust from high to low, left to right so you don’t miss a spec.
Get your scrub on
- Use all-purpose spray with wet rags, sponges or brushes to get all grease, grime and dirt off of all surfaces, handles, doorknobs, and cabinet fronts.
- Wipe surfaces again at the end with a clean, damp rag and don’t forget to check your work from all angles.
Glass time
- Use a clean, dry rag to dust all glass before going in with a new clean rag + glass spray to ensure everything is streak free from all angles!!!
Floors
- Always vacuum first to get all debris off the floor, then you can easily mop / steam mop to make it squeaky clean and streak free. If something is sticky, you may need to scrub it by hand first.
Finishing touches
- Check underneath furniture and hard-to-reach spaces. It should not only look beautiful, but to feel freshly cleaned too!
